Historic Pembroke
Pembroke town is situated in the very heart of South Pembrokeshire, its riverside location, picturesque castle and array of nearby beaches makes it the perfect holiday destination.
Pembroke Castle is a 13th century castle and the birthplace of Henry Tudor. It stands proudly as the head of its rocky crest and is encased on three sides by the calming millpond. Pembroke’s millpond is a wonderful base for leisure opportunities such as hiring a rowing boat for the best view of the castle. It is one of the most handsome and best-preserved castles in the county and a must see whilst visiting Pembrokeshire.
We are spoilt for choice in Pembrokeshire with our spectacular coastline. You will find beauty spots such as Barafundle Bay, Broad Haven South Beach and West Angle Bay within a fifteen-minute drive through a series of pretty country lanes. Pembroke is the ideal location for exploring the Pembrokeshire Coast Path; a walk, train, bus ride or a short drive in any direction will lead you to numerous areas worth exploring.
Pembroke’s main street stretches the full length of the old town, it is laced with local craft shops, gift shops, a traditional greengrocer, a florist and an extremely popular butcher. You will find traditional pubs serving ‘proper’ pub grub and cosy cafes perfect for a spot of lunch or an afternoon tea.
There is so much to see and explore here in Pembrokeshire, just a short drive away you will find Oakwood Theme Park – a popular day out for all ages. Or Cwm Deri Vineyard for an afternoon of cheese and wine tasting. If you are more of an adventurer/explorer Pembrokeshire has a wide range of adrenaline filled activities such as coasteering, stand up paddle boarding, surfing, wake boarding and so much more!

Coastal Walks
Here in Pembrokeshire, you will be spoilt for choice for your daily walks. With our 186-mile-long costal path and array of stunning, sandy beaches there is no surprise Pembrokeshire is such a popular spot for a staycation – all year round! You will find beauty spots such as Barafundle Bay, West Angle Bay, Bosheston Lily Ponds and Freshwater West Beach within a 15-minute drive from your apartment and you can even catch the coastal cruiser to make it a proper Pembrokeshire day out.

Whether you are looking to entertain little ones, teenage ones or bigger ones there is something for everyone to do here in Pembrokeshire. If you are animal lovers, we highly recommend Manor House Wildlife Park where you can experience the wallaby walkthrough and Folly Farm Adventure Park & Zoo with everything from tradition farm animals to a pack of lions or if an action-packed day out is more your thing then check out Heatherton World of Activities where you will find everything from archery to mini golf and tree-tops trailing. If you are more of a water sports person then head to one of the many beaches here in Pembrokeshire for a day of excitement with activities such as surfing, stand up paddle boarding. A taste of Pembrokeshire
Pembrokeshire has some of the best local produce in the UK, with our stunning location it is easy to see how we can produce this. In Pembroke town itself you will find cosy cafes tucked away by the millpond and traditional old pubs serving some of the best pub grub in the county. For a delicious cup of coffee and cosy lunch you will find The Cornstore Café within walking distance and for a proper pub meal head to The Old Kings Arms situated opposite the premises in the main street. If you fancied a walk on the beach and a refreshing lunch then Wavecrest Café in Angle is the place to be or for a delicious evening meal in the heart of the Pembrokeshire Coast Path try Stackpole Inn, another traditional pub with outstanding local produce on the menu. If it’s fine dining you are looking for then Rhosyn Restaurant at Penally Abbey is a short drive away. Its stunning dining room and delicious cocktails are a must.

By Car
– Follow M4, A48 then A40 until you reach St Clears roundabout
– From St Clears, follow the A477 for approximately 12 miles to Kilgetty roundabout
– At the roundabout take the 2nd exit and stay on A477
– At Carew roundabout take the 2nd exit and stay on A477
– At the next roundabout take the 2nd exit staying on A477 towards Pembroke Dock
– Turn left onto A4075 towards Pembroke
– At the mini roundabout take the 2nd exit onto Lower Lamphey Road
– Turn right onto Westgate Hill and keep left
– Follow the road down the hill past the church
– At the bottom of the hill turn right before the zebra crossing
– Straight ahead see signs for Pembroke Apartments

Pembroke train station is a 10-minute walk from us here at Pembroke Apartments.
Parking
Private parking is available on-site. If additional parking is required there are several pay and display car parks in Pembroke just a short walk away including South Quay Car Park, 6 Northgate Street, Pembroke, SA71 4NR and The Commons, Common Road, Pembroke SA71 4EA.
Getting around
If you fancy ditching the car for your visit there are a few ways to get around Pembrokeshire. Pembroke train station is a 10-minute walk and there is a bus stop situated to the front of the property where you can easily catch the coastal cruiser. Alternatively, you could hire bikes from Pembrokeshire Bike Hire, a great way to explore everything Pembroke has to offer. They will conveniently drop them off and pick them up – hassle free!
